Macaw - Medium - Senior - na - Bird - JUNGLE
Description
Jungle is a military macaw. He is believed to be a male, but without genetic testing there is no way to know for certain. He was abandoned at a construction site, so we don't know his past history or his age. Jungle is a large, active, playful bird who needs an experienced large bird owner. Macaws are loud and messy birds who crave a lot of interaction and time from their owners. He is not a bird that wants to sit in a cage all day - he loves to be out and be with his family. However, he is a large bird and will need an appropriately large cage. His current vocabulary is limited to `hello,` but he can still learn more. With a confident handler, he is able to be held and scratched. Like most birds, he has some people that he `clicks` with and others that he just doesn't see eye to eye with, and not everyone will be his friend. He has been known to chase the feet of those that he dislikes. As a large parrot, Jungle will need a steady supply of toys to keep his mind and beak busy. He is not currently a bad screamer but his normal vocalizations are loud. Apartments are not a good choice for macaws for this reason. He loves fresh fruits and carrots and is willing to try any food you offer.
