The Planned Giving Council of Cape Cod Announces Recipients of Distinguished Service to Philanthropy Awards
The Philanthropy Day Committee of the Planned Giving Council of Cape Cod is pleased to announce the recipients of The Distinguished Service to Philanthropy Awards. The awards will be presented during the Luncheon at Philanthropy Day on Cape Cod. The event will be held on November 4th at the Resort and Conference Center in Hyannis from 7:30 am to 2 pm. Awards will be presented to:
Outstanding Business: Nathan “Nick” Nickerson, owner of Arnold’s Lobster & Clam Bar was nominated for his contributions to Community Connections and many other local and national non-profits.
Outstanding Youth Individual: Amanda Person of Marstons Mills was nominated for her organization My Cinderella Dreams, providing gowns and accessories to students who would not be able to attend their prom for lack of a gown.
Outstanding Youth Organization: Cape Cod Academy Coffee House Program was nominated for its annual “Coffee House” fundraiser which has raised thousands of dollars for local, national and global organizations and individuals since its inception twenty four years ago.
Outstanding Volunteer Award: Betsy Warren of Cummaquid, nominated by Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod, involved since the 1990’s. Her contribution to the organization includes forming the Sandwich Friends of Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod.
Outstanding Philanthropist Award: James and Ruth Clark of Woods Hole were nominated by both Cape Cod Healthcare/Falmouth Hospital and Historic Highfield Hall.
These awards will be presented during the Awards Luncheon at Philanthropy Day on Cape Cod, which will be held at the Resort and Conference Center in Hyannis on November 4th, 2009 between 7:30 am and 2 pm.
